Good morning – and happy new year to you! It’s 2019. I hope you are waking up with a clear head, few aches and pains, and a positive outlook for the next 365 days.
It’s a good morning to think about what may come this year. Here are a few of my hopes and thoughts.
Long ago I gave up making New Year’s resolutions because they seemed to be frivolous. And, then disappointing when I slipped from them. It’s always good to have goals though. Mine are not specific, like losing ten pounds, or reading four books a month… but they are more general:
Be content in each moment.
Think of the good in people and situations (even when it can be hard to f ind.)
Be an example.
Respect everyone.
Give God the glory.
Use my abilities to help others and to bring me happiness.
Roll with it… whatever happens.
BUT – be an activist for what matters.
Live in moderation.
Of course I hope to have good health in the coming year. I hope to accept the aging process as it continues.
I hope to spend lots of time with my hubby, my daughters and SIL’s, and my grandsons.
I hope to go to music concerts and events.
I hope to enjoy where I live – the outdoor beauty here. The fresh air, the water, the flowers, and the fowl and animals.
Last night hubby and I talked about the coming year and the fact that it’s the first in awhile without a major event on the horizon. Both daughters ar now married. We don’t have a big project to do. We are going in to this year without a deadline or a financial need. I’m ready for a quiet year.
It may not stay that way.
But for now, on this first day of the new year, it feels good.
